I'm excited to share with you my round-up for the week: a Smoky Mountain getaway, the brand I discovered on my Outer Banks trip, a maple-inspired donut recipe, and my favorite murder-mystery book of the summer.
It's officially the first day of FALL! Even though this week in Minnesota is extra warm (yay) I love a good "Indian" summer. I had a blast at my pop-up shop last week, and have to give a HUGE thank you to Cov Wayzata and my friend, Libby, for making it all happen! PS- I only have ONE navy sweater left and it's up for grabs on Minnetucket. (I'll be getting more in mid-October).

I stumbled upon this lovely gem of a getaway while I was reading one of my favorite magazines (WSJ Magazine--A subscription MUST!) As soon as I turned the page and saw the landscape portrait of the Smokey Mountains, I was sucked in--Blackberry Mountain. The article went on to detail the extraordinary life of owner, Sandy Beall, and her talent for exquisite hospitality curation. Here's the link to the lovely Article!

I love finding new brands while I travel--it's like getting a souvenir that keeps on giving. It's funny because I still remember the moment I laid eyes on these beautiful Spartina 449 handbags in Amelia Island; they were practically calling my name. I love that this company is actually based out of Daufuskie Island because we stopped there on our Outer Banks trip this summer, too. It's such a unique and peculiar island; we took our tender over and spent the day touring the island in our rented golf cart. It was spectacular!

So, I saw these donuts on my IG feed thanks to Sally's Baking Addiction and loved the fact that they aren't fried... (I didn't feel as guilty having more than one haha). I bought this donut pan from Target and used a homemade maple syrup that I'm lucky enough to have a friend make. Easy and delicious...perfect for a fall morning with your pumpkin spice latté!
Finding Mrs Ford
If you love Watch Hill, you need to read Finding Mrs Ford! The author, Deborah, actually restored the infamous Ocean House hotel (a Watch Hill landmark...right next to T Swift's house!) with her husband when it was in dire need of repair. After visiting last summer, I knew this juicy murder/mystery/drama had my name written all over it. I loved getting sucked into Mrs. Ford's gilded Watch Hill life, and then watching it as it allllll falls apart because of a "ghost" from the past.
