Molly's Muse No. 8: All About Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving? Oh yeah, that's coming up like really soon! Don't worry, I've put together a great line-up to help you plan Turkey Day ahead of time. That way, you can de-stress and enjoy this holiday with your family and friends to the fullest. I'm all about planning ahead, dividing tasks, and making sure everyone is happy and comfortable on Thanksgiving day and evening. This Thanksgiving, I really want to focus on comfort food/fashion/and fun. Oh, and of course I have to tell you how thankful I am for my blog and all of my lovely readers... THANK YOU! :)

I'll be spending my Thanksgiving weekend in Breckenridge, Colorado. I love celebrating Turkey Day with a slice of mountain skiing. Being in the mountains for any winter holiday is quite the experience; there's a something extra special about quaint ski villages when there's a dusting of snow and twinkling lights lighting up the crisp night air. I hope you enjoy all of my tips and happy holiday to you and yours!

set the table in advance

Set your dining table in advance checks one more thing off your to-do list AND it's pretty to look at! The centerpiece of Thanksgiving is the dining table...I don't like over-doing my table settings--I like having room to move around and placing some food on the table and I like to have a "natural look". I love this centerpiece from William Sonoma--scatter a few small candles around it and you're all set!

If you're feeling more of a DIY project, I love this Pumpkin Floral Arrangement tutorial by Mason De Pax. It's actually really easy to assemble, and will totally transform your dining table into something special.

plan pre-dinner snacks

Make these brown butter mixed nuts ahead of time to snack on while dinner is in the oven. They pair perfectly with a great cocktail. Martha Stewart's Brown-Butter Nut Mix

Feel like an easier hors d'oeuvre? These Frozen Brie and Berry Bites ($4.99) from Target look cute, classy and delectable!

cute and *c a s u a l* dress code

Hello, perfect holiday outfit! Compliments of one of my favorite East Coast brands, Tuckernuck. I'm obsessed with this plaid top, the bow is just adorable! It's just...perfect. :) Shop the entire look here:

it's all fun & games

What's better than a night cap paired with your favorite board game? I personally love a dozen rounds of Cards Against Humanity, Uno, or Catch Phrase. Here's an "ultimate list" from the NY Magazine:

drink your dessert

I made this Pumpkin Pie Martini several years ago for Thanksgiving, and it's become a holiday favorite. Plus, it has egg nog in it...total win. Oh, and we love watching Christmas Vacation (best holiday movie ever) on Thanksgiving evening, it's kind of become a funny tradition. I hope you enjoy your holiday and make some new, happy traditions!
